What is PARGO and why have we added this option for our customers to select at the shipping section when they checkout?
PARGO is a PICKUP option instead of delivery to your home/work address This is now an extra option at the checkout screen when you order, so be sure to carefully review this when ordering
PARGO has a large network of participating stores, like: Clicks, BP petrol stations, Internet Café’s, and even SPAZA shops as well as many other stores
When a customer selects the PARGO option it is usually cheaper than delivery for most areas, A courier company will deliver your order to the PARGO point you choose, the system will give you options of the closest PARGO pickup point, The system will use your home address you enter and find a close PARGO pickup POINT.
You will be emailed or an SMS sent to you once you item has arrived at the PARGO poin/shop
All you need to then do is go to the store with waybill reference and collect the parcel within a few days of it arriving at the shop you have chosen
Her are some frequently asked questions about PARGO:
Is my Order contents PRIVATE and DISCREET: Yes, your parcel will be in a box and inside a courier bag so the contents are discreet and private
WHY WE INTRODUCED THIS, We have specifically put this in place to help our customers in townships and some high Risk areas, Courier rates to these areas are now double the normal prices, and some can be as high as R250.
I accidentally selected PARGO instead of Home Delivery can I change this? We can only change this before the parcel gets picked up, but once the parcel is picked up by the PARGO courier company we cannot change the method, you will have to collect it from the point you have selected
Why do I only have a PARGO option and no Home Delivery option when checking out? This is only applicable to High Risk area’s and Townships, There is currently only the PARGO option available. We are looking for alternative options in the future, but due to the massive increase in courier costs (some up to R250) for townships and high risk area’s we have decided not to go that route. We find that some courier companies still force customers in townships to come to police stations to pickup, we think this in unfair when a customer has paid for the delivery option. We therefore cannot charge delivery and cannot be sure that the courier and driver wont force a customer to come to a police station
Why have the couriers made my area a high risk area? Due to a high number of hi-jacking in an area a courier company will classify the area as a high risk area, they will then start adding surcharges on top of normal courier rates to assist them with higher insurance premiums they must now pay
